Petar Đorčevski was born in Serbia. He made his first ballet steps in the Lujo Davičo Ballet School in Belgrade, under Professor Mirjana Nesić. During his study he danced in the National Theatre in Belgrade in such performances as Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, The Sleeping Beauty, Onegin… In summer 2004 he perfected his technique in the Princess Grace Ballet School in Monaco. In autumn of the same year he enrolled at the National Opera Ballet School in Vienna, where he also appeared in a ballet production entitled as Balanchine and in the performance Empty Space, choreographed by Renato Zanella.
In the 2005/2006 season he was engaged with the National and People’s Opera in Vienna, where he danced in Alice in Wonderland, Coppélia, The Sleeping Beauty and Spartacus. In the next season he joined the Ballet Ensemble of the Slovak National Theatre, where he danced in La Bayadère, Le Corsaire, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Spartacus, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Sleeping Beauty, La Sylphide and Warhol. In 2007 he became a Finalist of the International Ballet Competition in Vienna.
In 2006 he became a member of the SNG Opera in balet Ljubljana (Slovenian National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana), where he has been a distinguished ballet soloist since 2015.He has appeared in the leading roles in the following ballet performances: Romeo and Juliet, La Sylphide, Giselle, Coppélia on Montmartre, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, The Sleeping Beauty, Doctor Zhivago, Tristan and Isolde, Who’s the Strongest?, The Architecture of Silence, Mozart vs. Schumann, Tango for Rachmaninov, Picko and Packo, La Bayadère, Unicorn, , Ballet 100, Orphic Hymn, Symphony of Sorrowful Songs, A Man with a Knife / Composition, Great Gatsby,Le Corsaire. and ballet evenings Urbanobalet and Under the Stars.
In the 2013/2014 season he joined the Ballet Ensemble of the Ballett im Revier in Germany, where he danced leading roles in Swan Lake, Orpheus and Three Sisters.He received the Lydia Wisiak Award for his role of Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet by Sergei Prokofiev as well as for his solo part in the ballet evening Mozart vs. Schumann.
He appeared as a guest at many prominent dance festivals in Italy, Australia, Austria, Singapore, Mexico, Colombia, USA, Germany, Greece, Korea, Macedonia, Croatia and elsewhere. Since 2014, he has been a member of the Collegiate Body and Artistic Consultant at the Ljubljana Opera, where he has presented the works of many internationally renowned artists, such as Alexander Ekman, Jiří Kylián, Hans van Manen, Jose Carlos Martinez, Renato Zanella, Jeroen Verbruggen, Mario Radacovsky, David Dawson, Leo Mujić and Eward Clug.Between 2019 and 2020, he also worked as the Artistic Director of the Ljubljana Ballet.
